6 Choices You Will Regret In 6 Years

It is so easy to get caught ups down things now, just for the short term instead of choosing to live to your big picture.  Some short term choices can really cause problems in later years.  For example

1) Allowing Fear to Determine The Actions You Take

Fear is a terrible master to serve.  It keep you from doing any number of things you will wish you had simply got the boldness to do at the time.  The thing is, it can seem so real in the moment but actually, fear is simply an imaginary situation that your body is trying to convince you is real.  The chances are that the thing you fear will be nowhere near as scary in real life.  It may not even happen so why not choose to be bold, brave, confident and go full pelt after what you want.

2) Keeping Toxic People In Your Life

I can tell you from personal experience that the time wasted trying to appease negative influences tends to be regretted.  You may feel loyal to these people because they are friends or even family but when it comes down to it, if you don’t want the regret of time wasted and your agenda unlived, then choose to remove these people from your life now.  You can always take them back later if you feel string enough to deal with it but sometimes, it is wise to have time apart.

3) Being Anyone But Yourself

At some point, you will realise that being yourself is best.  How long can you keep up an act?  How long before you feel as though you have disappeared in a sea of ‘shoulds’ and ‘musts’?  There is something unique about you and you will only find fulfilment and happiness when you are your true self, in business and in the rest of your life.

Also, you will never feel truly loved and cared-for unless you allow people to see the real you.  You don’t have to please everyone in business or in life, let your people find you as you truly show up as you.

4) Comparing Yourself To Others

This carries on from the above point.  It is pretty easy to get caught up in comparing yourself to others, particularly in this social media climate where everyone shows their best side.  Don’t do it.  It always ends up in you feeling ‘less than’ and your self-belief takes a beating.  Enjoy the person you are, develop the person you are and in six years time, you will thank yourself for it.

5) Putting Your Life On Hold

So, you have an idea for a book you want to write or a business you want to improve or art you want to put out in the world and instead of getting on with it, you tell yourself that you cannot do it until the children are grown up or life seems less busy or the parents do not need you any longer.  In six years time, you wonder why you chose not to simply get on with it and you will regret the time wasted

No, you cannot do everything all at the same time but there are some things that you can start now.  So start.  Do not delay!  Do not keep putting your life on hold.  You will live to regret it.

6) The Decision To Quit

So, you started that business and life feels tense and hard right now and your family do not understand why you are even bothering and you start to wonder as well.  And so you quit.  Except this is a business you have been wanting to do forever and it is also something you feel called to.  And so you live to regret it.  Pain is temporary but regret is permanent unless you chose to start it all up again in a year or so.  It would be easier to stay on path now and keep moving forward.
