Impact (noun)
A marked effect or influence
We often talk about impact, but it wasn’t until a weekend away in Reading that I got a glimpse of impact in action.
I was due to share a room at a weekend retreat, and I didn’t know the person scheduled to be my roommate. When she entered the room, I was as surprised as she was visibly excited. When we were introduced, she had a huge smile on her face, and these were her first words: “It’s you! I saw you speak, and I was so inspired. I know I’m going to get so much out of sharing a room with you”.
After I got over my initial shock, I realised the power of impact was far greater than I thought, and it was all about connection which also highlighted the power of Sparkle as it connects you to the hearts of others.
Add the power of intention to the Sparkle Equation™ = know who you are + understand the value you bring to the table + show up unapologetically on purpose and that creates your Impact Equation™
Whilst the impact you are having may never be revealed to you, you still need to plan for it and your Sparkle paves the way.
When you intentionally show up with the sole mission of adding value, impact is guaranteed.
Every day the task is to serve your audience in the best way you can, striving to always add value to the table. There will always be an outcome but sometimes the real impact is not realised until after you have left the table. You simply need to know that you will have an impact because you set your intention to add value and you made a connection.
As the queen of the acronym, it would be remiss of me not to create one for IMPACT. I thought long and hard and this is what I came up with what do you think?

Impact is more than having thousands of followers on social media, it is all about adding value to others wherever you show up. Value that touches the hearts of those who receive it and last beyond the moment.
