Yes, I get that we are human and business always seems incredibly complicated…

We tell ourselves that some people have it and other people don’t…

And yes, I suppose in some ways, that can be true but not usually in the way that most people think of it.

Most people think it comes down to whether you have a head for numbers…

Or an ability to persuade and influence and make sales…

Or maybe you have that special gene because you luckily were born into the right family.

Or maybe it is the country in which you live…

Or maybe it is the religion you belong to as that means you have certain contacts because hey, it is all about who you know, right?

Or maybe it is about the school you attended – Was it that posh school where the ‘la-dee-dahs’ went? or the bog standard elementary next door?

So many reasons people find to tell themselves that they cannot have what they want in business…

So many reasons to quit and not even to bother trying at all…

And I have not even included all the…

“But I have no support…

I don’t have the time – I am already working gazillion hours in my job…

I have children and I don’t want them to feel abandoned

I am not sure if God likes me to be ambitious…

I don’t have the money

I don’t know how

I don’t know who to ask…

I am not born for this…

I have not even managed to tie my shoelaces so how can I start a business?

I am not good with money!”

And so on and so on, the reasons/excuses go…

But you know what, the ONE thing that separates those who win form those who don’t…

EMOTIONAL RESILIENCE!

The ones who can see the darkness and keep showing up every freaking day anyway…

The ones who face fears and keep moving forward!

The ones who make decisions even when they are not sure which is the right one…

The ones who get creative when their money is tight…

The ones who refuse to stop ever even when every cell in them WANTS TO!

The ones who act, act, test, tweak and act some more…

The ones who realise that business itself is pretty dang straightforward!

The only complicated thing about it, IS THE HUMAN BEING AT THE HELM OF IT!

I do believe everyone can run business successfully…

I do believe everyone has that ability within them…

I also KNOW that not everyone will…

Some because they are satisfied with the status quo and don’t want to do such a demanding thing

Some because they will make normal small failures on the way to success mean that they are not cut out for it.

Do you have the emotional resilience to make your business work?
