Nicola Scowen

I am a forty something co-owner of a business called Women In Debt. I have worked in financial services and banking since 1988 and wanted to set up a business that was much more personal than those big faceless organisations. In March 2010 Women In Debt was launched with my fellow director and ex colleague Georgina Earle. A debt advice business devised by women for women.

When I’m not at work I live with my husband in East Lancashire with our Lakeland Terrier and African Grey, I recently was very fortunate to take a year out and committed myself to dog ownership which has been a wonderful experience and got me out enjoying the area in which I live. I am a very proud step mum to four boys and a very recent granny to our wonderful grandson.

I take a slightly irreverent view of life; friends think that I am a frustrated comedienne which you’ll see in my blogs. Creative writing was a passion in school and then lay dormant until I discovered blogging and now I write as much as I can in any spare time I have and I would love in the future to spend more and more writing.
